(Il modello RO Basic è sprovvisto di filtro a sedimenti; in questo caso il filtro a carbone svolge anche la funzione di filtro meccanico a 5 micron). Dopo questa prima purificazione l’acqua viene fatta scorrere in una cartuccia con carbone attivo (3) che toglie il cloro ed inoltre elimina le tracce di pesticidi, erbicidi, metalli ed, anche, il cattivo sapore e\/o odore che l’acqua può liberare. Dopo essere passata per il filtro a carbone, l’acqua viene inviata, sotto pressione, ad una membrana speciale (5) che lascia passare solo l’acqua pura. Le sostanze che induriscono l’acqua e quelle nocive come sali, carbonati, solfati, metalli pesanti, pesticidi, e perfino batteri e virus vengono trattenuti e risciacquati con l’acqua residua. Per il montaggio, la membrana va inserita nel suo contenitore facendo in modo che l’o-ring più grosso rimanga verso il tappo, mentre i due o-ring piccoli rimangano verso il basso. Per ottenere l’effetto desiderato è decisiva la qualità della membrana osmotica; le membrane usate nei nostri apparecchi (poliammide\/polisolfone) sono estremamente resistenti all’aggressione batterica, hanno lunga durata, sono facili da conservare e restano inalterate per anni. L’acqua una volta trattata, viene pre-canalizzata nel tubo centrale della membrana ed esce, purissima, attraverso il condotto centrale (6).
